Greenstone and pounamu toki have a spiritual meaning associated with strength (mana).

This stunning pounamu pendant has been handcarved in a contemporary design.

Pounamu plays a very important role in Māori culture. It is considered a taonga (treasure). Pounamu taonga increase in mana (prestige) as they pass from one generation to another. It is only found in the South Island of New Zealand.

Traditionally pounamu is always given as a gift to be treasured.

Raegan Bregmen is a multi skilled artist from a small town on the coast of north island called Otaki.. he is of Ngai Tahu descent and loves exploring his cultural routes.
After studying for three years as an artist, he decided to further his carving carreer on the West Coast of our beautiful South Island, known as "Jade" country...in the first week of being here he found his first piece of greenstone and had an instant connection and fell in love with it...greenstone carving is his life now.
